Class Project Level 4

Class project description: College Students Challenge

Situation and Context: Students will participate in a role-play based on college students competition called “The College Challenge Contest”. This is an annual international competition for college students. The objective of the contest is to stimulate proactive interdisciplinary problem-solving analysis amongst undergraduate students around the world. Winners receive cash awards to help advance their ideas to the next level. Our University will sponsor a group of students to travel and participate in this competition, thus students are encouraged to send and present their projects to represent our University.

Steps:

  1. Students come up with innovations to address the issue constructively. Innovations could be a physical product, a service or a combination of the two.
  2. Students learn how to access databases and other sources of reliable information to search more information about the chosen topic.
  3. Students learn about reading strategies to read the selected articles and prepare a graphic organizer to present the collected information.
  4. Students prepare a project proposal which includes a biosketch, an introduction (description of the problem), objectives, and solution.
  5. Students design a website to present their project proposal.
  6. Students pitch their projects at the jury.
